The picturesque hills, known as 'collines,' provide the perfect environment for the growth of old Bourbon coffee varieties.

Harvested at optimal altitudes in central and northern regions, Burundi coffee surprises with a taste reminiscent of the finest Guatemalan brews. With its unique wet-processing method and a harvest season that complements Central America, our Burundi coffee offers a year-round alternative to fresh green coffee. Indulge in its bright, clean, and balanced flavor profile – often surpassing the quality of its Central American counterparts.

FARM NOTES

Welcome to the heart of Collines Magamba, nestled in the Mwaro region of Burundi, where smallholder farmers like Ephrem Sebatigita nurture exceptional coffee beans. The Munkaze washing station, overseen by Ephrem and his family, processes coffee from approximately 350 local farmers, including those from the Magamba area. Situated between 1800 to 2000 meters above sea level, this region boasts optimal conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee.

At Munkaze, state-of-the-art equipment, including a 2-disc depulping machine, is utilized to meticulously process the coffee cherries. After fermentation and meticulous washing, the beans are carefully dried on raised beds for two weeks, ensuring optimal flavor development. Ephrem's dedication to quality extends beyond production – his refined palate has earned him recognition as a skilled taster, with multiple appearances on the Cup of Excellence jury.

Experience the passion and expertise of Ephrem Sebatigita with each sip of this exceptional coffee, a testament to his commitment to excellence and the rich coffee heritage of Burundi.
